Update from my unplanned hiatus: Back in December 2025, I was rushed to the ER thinking I had a simple case of appendicitis. After emergency surgery, I spent a week in the hospital recovering with a drain in my abdomen, a catheter, strong IV antibiotics and multiple breathing treatments. During that time, my biopsy results came back and changed everything…the doctors told me I had appendiceal cancer. I spent Christmas, New Year’s, and the beginning of this year fighting through multiple major surgeries: an emergency appendectomy that led to an open ileocecectomy, and a month later a right hemicolectomy with hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy. Today, I’m proud to call myself a cancer survivor and a fighter. #cancersucks
