A stolen Shetland Pony foal has been found by police roughly 300 miles away from home. Lucy was taken from her field near Truro in Cornwall in July, leaving her mother distraught. At the time, the skewbald filly was only two months old and wasn't due to be weaned for another four months. Police eventually tracked her down in Hertfordshire and brought her home. Horses and jockeys awoke to a flurry of snow over Prestbury Park this morning, day two of the 2025 Cheltenham Festival. Despite the chilly conditions many braved the blizzard to fit in a warm up lap before the racing this afternoon. Clerk of the course Jon Pullin says the going is currently 'good to soft' and the snow is expected to clear around 10.30am.

Congratulations to Paddy Gamble, the junior champion of the world's fastest pasty crimping competition. The 12-year-old from Truro took part in the event which sees competitors aim to seal their pasties the quickest. It brought Cornish Pasty Week to a close where people across the county celebrated the 800-year-old tradition.

The M5 is shut in both directions between junction 23 for Bridgwater and junction 22 for Burnham-on-Sea because of a lorry fire. It happened on the southbound carriageway but the road has also closed northbound due to heavy smoke- National Highways: South-West says the northbound closure is in the process of being removed. There is also congestion on local roads through East Huntspill, Bridgwater and Highbridge. Diversion routes are in place. Updates available here:
