Winter watering takes a little creativity in remote pastures without power. When there's no electric water heater, this is my go-to way to keep water tanks from freezing. A metal bucket with hot coals adds gentle heat and helps soften the ice so it's easier to break. #winter

This dead hedge fencing was a quick and free project. I had a lot of leftover branches from cutting and burning wood this winter and I've used this type of benjes hedge fencing in the past. It held my pigs and cows in a pinch and I didn't have to weave or bend the wood.
