Jaylin Noel fair catching this punt is something that I think had a bigger impact on the game than people may realize. With how much room Noel had after the catch, if he was able to get even 15 yards. Houston only needs 10ish to get into field goal range which lets their defensive play differently & the offense would have likely only needed a FG on that final drive.

What a play from C.J. Stroud on a 3rd down to put this football right in Hutchinson’s arms on the move with a defender drilling him. Keylan Rutledge got cooked by the stunt here as well.

I’m not sure C.J. Stroud could throw these two balls to Jaylin Noel & Kayshon Boutte any better than he did. Stroud’s mechanics and accuracy have looked much improved this year.

Nick Caley was scheming guys open for Houston all night. Noel is open down the middle of the field right before half but Tytus is pushed into the QB & causes the ball to be a little underthrown. Still a ball that should be caught even with the hit but tough catch for sure.

TE Marlin Klein is at practice Thursday after missing on Tuesday where Demeco Ryans gave no update on his status. No helmet likely means he is working back from whatever injury he had but appears to not be something of concern. (Aaron Wilson)

C.J. Stroud led the Texans 92 yards to take the lead with just over 2 minutes left. Multiple awesome throws on this drive with a 3rd down conversion under pressure to Nico & excellent ball placement to Noel. He’s playing the best ball of his career.

Demeco Ryans spoke glowingly about IOL Keylan Rutledge yesterday after practice: “Keylan is a swarm player man I love it. Like I said love to an O-Lineman pushing guys downfield still fighting to make sure he finishes. I love his mindset.” We also noticed Azeez Al-Shaair taking time after practice to talk with Rutledge.

ESPN’s Mina Kimes & Benjamin Solak take C.J. Stroud 12th in their QB Draft notably ahead of QBs like Trevor Lawrence, Brock Purdy & Jalen Hurts. “Stroud is an aggressive thrower, he throws on time between zones, he places the ball correctly. He asks his WRs to make big plays for him” “Stroud in his rookie season saw tons of base that’s all down, saw tons of single high that’s all down. If you can reintroduce a healthy running attack to Houston, Stroud will look more like the quarterback we expected him to be”
