Big portal news: Notre Dame catcher Carson Tinney has entered with a do-not-contact tag. He hit .348/.498/.753 with 17 homers, 13 doubles and 53 RBIs across 48 games in 2025. Someone is getting a great player.

No. 1 UCLA survived Washington with a 6-5 win thanks to Cashel Dugger's ninth-inning heroics. The Bruins are 47-6 and 27-2 in the Big Ten. A win tomorrow would mean UCLA Baseball goes wire-to-wire in the regular season as No. 1, which has never happened.

Portal news: JMU righty Jackson Logar has entered the portal after a standout season. He posted a 3.53 ERA with 72 strikeouts across 74 innings. Primarily fastball-slider. Slider produced a 41% whiff rate. Heater up to 95.

Intriguing portal news: WKU lefty Patrick Morris has entered after an unbelievable season with the Hilltoppers. He pitched to a 1.11 ERA with 33 strikeouts over 32.1 innings. Fastball up to 92 (89.2 avg). Slider and change both drew over 35% whiff.

Florida second baseman Cade Kurland has entered the transfer portal after four years with the Gators. He hit .279/.384/.469 with nine home runs and seven doubles this year. Kurland said he wanted to pursue pro opportunities after Florida was eliminated.

Michigan freshman lefthander Shane Brinham is in the portal after pitching to a 3.88 ERA with 61 strikeouts to 35 walks over 65 innings in 2026. Sits 90-91 up to 95 with ride. Strong feel for spin.

Army star Josiah Overbeek has entered the portal. Huge addition. He led all freshmen in OPS and was tied for the freshman lead in homers (17). Strong lefty swing who controls the zone and mashes to the pullside. Can border on passive but serious tools.

You don’t see this very often! Kentucky Baseball second baseman Luke Lawrence swiped home against Georgia for his sixth stolen bag of the year. This is the THIRD time this year Kentucky has successfully stolen home.

Two days after run-ruling then-No. 8 TCU to complete a ranked sweep, No. 1 UCLA was defeated 4-3 at home by San Diego State. Righty Alec Belardes gave the Aztecs 5.1 innings, allowing three runs on three hits and three walks. UCLA struggled with Belardes’ high-spin breaking ball.

An interesting thing to file away for this year’s draft: There’s belief that UCLA first baseman Mulivai Levu could play third base. He takes reps there during BP.

Feels like a wide open race for top LHP in the 2026 draft. Sun Devil Baseball ace Cole Carlon is going to have a chance to win it. He’s been 93-96 and up to 98 through two innings. High 80s gyro slider already has five whiffs. Mid-80s changeup has been well-placed and effective.

Former Columbia shortstop Sam Miller is transferring to Florida, according to a change to his bio. He’s coming off a huge 2025 season in which he batted .343 with 16 homers and 57 RBIs. Gators are losing Colby Shelton to the pros so this is a huge add.

We have a contender for single-game performance of the year. Gardner-Webb Baseball's Dale Francis went 4-for-5 with four home runs and 12 RBIs, including a bases loaded Bonds treatment walk. Francis was responsible for driving in 12 of his team's 16 runs.

Lorenzo Carrier is the senior breakout of the year so far. In 18 games the Pitt Baseball OF is slashing .516/.644/1.145 with 10 HR, 5 doubles and 2 triples. He hit 18 HR in 131 games from 2022–25. Already set or tied career bests in HR, RBIs, SB and triples.

Kansas coach Dan Fitzgerald has built a mature roster largely with JUCO talent. The Jayhawks have been one of the top power-hitting groups in the country as a result and need just seven homers to match their 2024 season total. It’s not even April.

Sometimes Baseball America Team of the Week decisions don’t require much thought. Pitt Baseball outfielder Lorenzo Carrier has made it quite easy. With this homer he’s 12-for-13 with five home runs, two triples and 18 RBIs this week. “On fire” feels light.

This throw from DJ Lagway is phenomenal. Florida should consider letting him do this more. He’s good at it.
