If we’re talking older RPGs with GOOD COMBAT Kingdom of Amalur deserves a mention! 👌🏽 This game was MASSIVELY UNDERRATED for breaking that trend, great RPG systems and some of the best action-combat in the genre at the time 😮‍💨⚔️🔥 But yeahh, having grown up on action-adventure and hack n slash games, the combat in RPGs back in the day (like Dragon Age: Origins and World of Warcraft) really used to throw me off 😅 This game was a genuine breath of fresh air, and ticked all the boxes for me! 😌

Older Spider-Man games (like Spider-Man 2 & Web of Shadows) had more satisfying player expression through realistic momentum & physics, but could look and feel janky.
