Now as the half went on Sunderland became more and more passive OOP with the aim being to catch us on the counter as our rest defence weakens while we chase a goal. This example goes straight back to Gordon’s quote and where his frustration will be. This a second example I’ve shown in this thread of us failing to find the free man. This is poor from Burn. He had a few extra yards to bring that ball forward or I think that pass into Willock is more than on but instead he goes over the top to Osula in a 2v1 deficit? Same with Elanga he failed to spot the free man and we couldn’t hurt Sunderland defensively. 10/ #NUFC

There has been a misconception online that we have switched to a 4-2-3-1 in the last two games. That’s not true. It’s the same 4-3-3 and 4-5-1 we have played all season. Woltemade is playing LCM. My thinking as to why it seems we aren’t is because of the freedom Eddie offers our players within the structure. Woltemade is allowed to move and receive between the lines, just like Willock (when he plays LCM) is allowed to hold width and use his pace in wide areas.

Gordon speaking on his performances this season and I have to completely agree. His underlying numbers are very similar to that double digit G/A season and there has definitely been an element of unluckiness in his output not being as high as it should be this season. #NUFC

I see a lot of criticism on Miley’s passiveness in his passing, it’s all backwards and sideways but look where these passes end up and how they help us. There’s a lot of value in these passes, it drags out pressure and opens up space else where to progress play, this passing isn’t passive it’s smart. You need players like Miley in your side/squad, they offer so much value that many don’t see. #NUFC
