On 6 January 2026 Laurie Whitwell, Adam Crafton and Mark Critchley wrote the following for the The New York Times. “While Ruben Amorim was charming and generous with fans and regular staff, some players wanted better communication from him. Do these journalist care to clarify their own words, and be more specific? The character assassination they tried to pull off on this man is truly insane.
