Last night my friend Maxwell Alejandro Frost showed me Donald Trump’s Truth Social posting urging MAGA to expel me from Congress. Apparently Trump doesn’t appreciate our fight against his $1.776 billion slush fund or his outrageous attack against the Southern Poverty Law Center. Sorry, Mr. President, I’m not going anywhere but back to the front lines of the fight against corruption and authoritarianism.

Tuesday I thanked nurses, doctors & pharmacists at MedStar Georgetown who serve with splendid kindness—and saved my life over 5 months. I finished 6 rounds of 5-day chemo sessions—which they organized so I didn’t have to miss votes or hearings—and I rang the bell! A new chapter begins.

I just got back from Charlottesville, Virginia where I urged everyone to VOTE YES on today's referendum. While in Charlottesville, I visited Heather Heyer Way, named after the young activist in the prime of her life killed by a neo-Nazi. It's important for us to reflect on those people we've lost in this struggle, and take from them the conviction and determination we need to defend democracy and freedom in America.

Donald Trump has no authority to hold up billions of dollars for infrastructure funding—much less hold it up because of his narcissistic obsession with naming things after himself. Congress appropriated that money and the President must release it. And he should get help on that megalomania issue.

I just went to Annapolis and filed for re-election to represent Maryland’s beautiful 8th District in the U.S. House of Representatives. I was in the same building I visited 20 years ago when I first ran for the State Senate. We’ve been through a lot together in the last two decades, with ups and downs, victories and tragedies. But we’ve always fought hard for progress for our people: marriage equality, abolition of the death penalty, restoration of voting rights for former prisoners, National Popular Vote, infrastructure investment, affordable housing, universal health care, economic empowerment and bold climate action. We’re still in the fight of our lives, and I will stand by your side every day to advance strong democracy and freedom in 2026 and beyond.
