Piper apologize to Wizkid feels less like an apology and more like regret. Back then, respect was easy to overlook. Today, after seeing how far Wizkid has come and the legacy he’s built, the conversation has changed. If Wizkid hadn’t gone on to become one of the biggest artists in the world, I don’t think we’d be having this apology today. To me, Davido has repeatedly benefited from the attention that comes with Wizkid-related conversations during album campaigns. That’s why Wizkid staying silent changes the game. If there’s no response, there’s no extra wave to ride.
