I’m pretty devastated to hear Duck Dynasty patriarch Phil Robertson passed away. I was lucky enough to write and shoot a video with him years ago. It was hilarious. But one thing he told me I’ve never forgotten and think about all the time… When I told him I was expecting my first son, he paused and asked me if he could give me some unsolicited advice. “Of course,” I said. “Let your son see you love his mother,” he replied. Then his face turned DEADLY serious. “I mean, let him see you really love her.” He didn’t break eye contact for an uncomfortable amount of time to really make sure I understood. In retrospect, this was phenomenal advice that only became more true as time went on. RIP, Phil 🙏
