Since Starfield launched, one of the biggest requests from some players has been the ability to take off from a planet and fly seamlessly into space without a loading screen. Personally, it has never bothered me much, but for others it has been near the top of the wish list since day one. Now, thanks to modder 0xBobby, that dream is much closer to becoming a reality. Seamless Planet Takeoffs is now available in beta on Nexus Mods. It is brand new and still rough around the edges, but this is absolutely one to watch as it continues to improve.

There is no conceivable reality where I’ll ever get to step off the ramp of a spaceship and see another world filling nearly my entire field of view overhead. Starfield lets me experience moments like that anyway, if only for a little while.

In Starfield, the little things are often the big things for me. While cleaning up old captures, I found this one: the shadow of a moon crossing its parent gas giant while I stood on a different moon (a rare event). These are the moments that keep me coming back to Starfield.

A note to first-time Starfield players, especially those jumping in (soon) on PlayStation: Starfield is not a space sim. Period. If you go in expecting that, you might miss what actually makes it special. At its core, it’s a Bethesda RPG. The same charm, freedom, and exploration we’ve loved for years. That said… it borrows just enough from space sims to enhance the experience. With dynamic planetary systems and shifting day/night cycles, you’ll rarely see the same sky twice. So don’t rush it. Take your time. Wander. And seriously… look up!

With the recent launch of the Free Lanes update for Starfield, we got immersive interplanetary travel. Now, a new mod/creation brings more immersive intersystem travel. In a similar vein to Cruise Mode, “Grav Lanes” lets you move freely around your ship mid–grav jump. You can do everything you normally would onboard and actually experience the journey, complete with a light show outside your windows. Check out the video to see it in action. I’ll drop the link in the replies.

There seems to be some confusion about DLSS 5. Based on available information, it does not alter underlying character models or geometry. Differences seen in comparison screenshots can be explained by movement between captures when toggling DLSS on or off.
