Last Mother's Day we were in survival mode as we stocked up on conditions and symptoms without having Mia's root diagnosis, which came Father's Day weekend. There was a lot of anxiety, a lot of fear, a lot of anger. This year feels so much sweeter. Because of Mia's terminal diagnosis, we try so hard to soak up each second, to make choices that more heavily weight the short-term rather than the long-- because now is what we have. It's obvious that Mia is a pretty baby, but many of you don't get a chance to truly enjoy her like we do. She is so incredibly sweet. And happy. And goofy. She loves to play this game where she spits out her paci at night and waits for you to come in so she can smile at you. She'll do it over and over and over, until you give up or sleep takes her. This video was from one of those nights, and when she scares me at the end, I was so surprised and delighted.😂

My beloved Camry is dying a painful death as the transmission fails, so we're scrambling to find a new vehicle. Given Mia's needs, we're specifically looking for a minivan that's: less than 10 years old, under 125k miles, has automatic doors to make it easier to get her in and out. If you're selling a minivan that fits these criteria or know of a good deal, let me know! We're in Charlotte, NC right now, but we could make the drive for the right fit.
