She realizes what happened, grabs a knife, and heads out for revenge. How do you film an ending that good and then follow it up with Michael hiding in a sewer for four years? That ending in Friday the 13th Part 3 (1982) genuinely gave me nightmares growing up. Jason standing at that window with that disgusting grin, then coming outside taunting Chris like he's enjoying every second of her terror. No hockey mask, just that horrifying face. What makes it even creepier is that Chris recognizes Jason as the same man who attacked her in the woods years earlier. Even after putting an axe in his head, she's still terrified of him. And just when you think it's over, Pamela's rotting corpse comes flying out of the lake. Even Chris's nightmares have jump scares. The poor girl couldn't catch a break awake OR asleep. Part 3 deserves more credit for how disturbing this ending was. This is the kind of psychological horror Crystal Lake should bring back. #CrystalLake #FridayThe13th #JasonVoorhees #Horror

Jason Goes to Hell (1993) ended with Jason dragged into Hell and Freddy Krueger pulling his hockey mask underground. That ending promised something much bigger. Ten years later, Freddy vs. Jason (2003) finally arrived. Freddy resurrects Jason to terrorize Springwood, but the movie barely explores their connection in Hell. What makes this frustrating is that the writers actually considered stories involving Hell before abandoning them. We finally got the crossover, but the supernatural mythology established in Jason Goes to Hell was largely left unexplored. Happy Halloween! Halloween (2007) might have one of the most depressing kills in the franchise. Ismael spent years looking after Michael Myers, treating him with respect and calling him Mikey. Michael escapes, beats him half to death, and drops a television on his head. And poor Ismael is still pleading, "I was good to you, Mikey!" Apparently being nice to Michael Myers gets you absolutely nowhere. The RV scene in Friday the 13th Part VI is hilarious. Cort and Nikki were just trying to enjoy themselves when Jason climbed aboard, turned their RV into a death trap, and sent the whole thing flipping off the road. Then he casually walks out of the wreckage like he just got dropped off at his destination. Cameron got done FILTHY in Halloween Kills. Michael slammed him into the staircase, stomped his back, and was about to leave until Allyson started screaming. Michael really turned around like, “Oh, you want him? Hold on.” Then snapped his neck right in front of her. Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood deserves way more respect. Kane Hodder gave us one of the most terrifying versions of Jason. The heavy breathing, aggressive movements, and the way he carried himself made Jason feel like an absolute monster. Tina actually put up a fight, and people laughed at the whole Carrie vs. Jason idea, but watching Jason get his ass handed to him by a girl with telekinetic powers was fantastic. Melissa from Friday the 13th Part VII is still one of the most hated characters in the franchise to this day, and her death might be one of the most satisfying. One thing I loved about Friday the 13th (2009) was how sneaky Jason could be. You got this man standing on the roof watching everybody, then he's inside the house grabbing Bree and covering her mouth so nobody hears a thing.
