For decades, this one-of-a-kind instrument has brought joy to the Grateful Dead community, and we’re glad to know it has found a home with someone who appreciates the magic Doug Irwin built so many years ago. More than anything, Tiger was made to roar. We hope it finds its way into the hands of those who will be good stewards of this music’s legacy. The true spirit of this guitar lives in the music it was built to create. May it continue to inspire curiosity, connection, and a little bit of wonder for years to come. – The Jerry Garcia Family

I pushed the record button, grabbed my mandolin and we were off and picking! What we played spontaneously for that first time in 15 years, is the 12-minute first track here, “Bare Bones Prelude”, a musical foretelling of the many sessions that Jerry and I would record over the next five years.” – David Grisman And that was only the beginning.
