Seeing the Ahmedabad police behave like this with women makes one’s blood boil! A Gujarati sister asks a police officer for his ID card. The ID slips from her hand and falls on the road – and this becomes her “crime”! Then this khaki-clad goon slaps her and draws blood! What is this? Is the job of the police to protect citizens or to beat them up? Where is the government that makes tall claims about women’s safety in Gujarat? This policeman has taken the law into his own hands! I demand: An FIR be immediately registered against this policeman, he be arrested without delay, and strict punishment be given! So that no one – whether a cop or a politician – ever dares to take the law into their own hands again! To celebrate Prime Minister Modi's birthday and present him as a larger than life 'Messiah' of the masses, some bunch of fools in the BJP government decided to open the floodgates of Narmada Dam yesterday (without any prior warning in nearby areas), and released 18 lakh cusecs of water at once leading to misery and devastation in the lives of ordinary people. Over 10,000 people in Narmada, Vadodara and Bharuch district have been evacuated, their lives risked, livelihood and homes destroyed, only to present a God image of one man. Even the much touted Satute of Unity is reeling under floods today. The entire state machinery is hollow and lacks imagination. This is no less than a crime against humanity ! #organisedfloods

Chronology of Gujarat floods ! -Madhya Pradesh's Indirasagar Dam released 9.45 lakh cusecs of water into Narmada, days before PM's birthday so that the Narmada Dam reservoir reaches maximum water levels before PM's birthday on September 17. -On the day of PM's birthday, as part of the celebration, all the floodgates of the dam are thrown wide open to release water. -Mindlessly, 18 lakh cusecs of water gets released at one go. -As a result, Bharuch, Vadodara and Narmada districts of Gujarat gets flooded. -As you can see in the video, flood water enters homes and residential societies. -Thousands of people are left helpless, houses destroyed and some forced to take shelter on the roof of the houses as water submerged their homes. -Meanwhile, people from Saurashtra, North Gujarat and Kutch had been demanding water for a month now but it was not being released. It was kept on hold for the PM's birthday. -The water could easily have been released in a phased to these regions few days prior as a red alert was already issued and there was going to be more water in the dam. But does that count for a birthday celebration? No right? -They waited for the PM's birthday to release the water. Hence, this is not a natural flood but a man-made disaster to celebrate the "Messiah". Absolutely shameful and disgusting state of affairs! #organisedfloods #GujaratRains

Is customer really a king or a slave? Heard my colleagues speak about the long queues at stores to buy iPhone15. Some people even traveled from Gujarat to Mumbai and stayed in a queue for some 17 hours to grab an iPhone. In Delhi, a fight broke out at an iPhone store leading to blows from both sides. This makes one ponder over a few things: 1. While I understand that iPhone is a good phone but standing in queue for 17 hours? 2. Having a sleepless night outside a store so that you are first in the queue in the morning ? 3. Travelling to a different city/state to buy an iPhone? Are we that much out of work? 4. Is a month's wait a lot of time when the product readily gets available at our nearby stores? 5. Also, most in the queue might already have an iPhone but are in line to get the latest device. Does it warrant the madness? 6. This leads me to think if the customer is really the king or a slave to a brand? As a society, we clearly need to course correct our madness. Gone are the days when somebody asked you about the phone you carry. So, wake up! We have reached the moon. Evening thoughts!

गुजरात में विकास की एक नई परंपरा शुरू हुई हैं। भ्रष्टाचार इतना करो की पुल बनने के पहले ही ढह जाए ताकि नया पुल बने और नया कमीशन निकाला जा सके। उत्तर गुजरात के पालनपुर की यह घटना हैं। इसके पहले भी अनेक पुल टूटे है, पर उनकी क्या जांच हुई, जांच का क्या नतीजा आया, कोन दोषी पाया गया, किसे सज़ा मिली, वह सब सरकार ही जाने।

गुजरात के तापी ज़िले में 2 करोड़ के खर्च से बना पुल लोकार्पण के पहले ही टूटा। यह गुजरात में कोई पहली घटना नहीं हैं। इसके पहले जब मोरबी में पुल टूटा तब 135 से अधिक लोगों कि मौत हुई थी। हमे विश्वास है इस पर सिर्फ़ लीपा-पोती होगी। कोई स्पष्ट कार्यवाही नहीं होनी है क्यों कि जब सब की हिस्सेदारी तय है तो कार्यवाही कौन करेगा और किस पर करेगा?

दुर्भाग्य है की शिक्षक दिन के अवसर पर गुजरात के हजारों शिक्षकों को कॉन्ट्रैक्ट सिस्टम के विरुद्ध आंदोलन करने को मजबूर होना पड़ा। इनकी समस्याओं को सुनने के बजाए, सरकार पुलिस को आगे करती हैं और पुलिस इन्हें FIR की धमकी देती हैं। भाजपा की यह गज़ब की तानाशाही हैं, ना हक दो, ना हक की लड़ाई करने दो।
