My sister was abused. The man who did it is still free. That will not stand. On 30 September, Dhaval Dave, BJP’s Prabhari for Banaskantha, put up a filthy post from an Instagram account. He abused my sister and dragged her name into a communal slur by linking her with Muslims. This was not a slip. It was done on the instructions of his political bosses in Gandhinagar, and possibly Delhi. They could not break the brother, so they went after the sister. When Modi’s mother is abused, an FIR is registered at once. When my sister is abused, the file does not move. Is the dignity of one woman bigger than the dignity of another? A mother is a mother. A sister is a sister. The Constitution does not rank them by whose son or brother is in power. This is the real face of the BJP–RSS: casteist, communal, and anti-women. I have demanded an FIR. They have not registered it. Instead they are pressuring voters in my constituency to file frivolous charges against me. The abuser is protected. The complainant is targeted. This is not policing. This is a political operation. I salute every Congress karyakarta and every person in Gujarat who has stood with me. You have seen the filth, and you have refused to stay silent. Hear this clearly. I demand the immediate FIR and arrest of Dhaval Dave. If that FIR is not registered, we will not send another representation. Every district headquarters in Gujarat will be jammed. Not one. Every one. Until this man is booked and arrested, no thana will be allowed to pretend that a sister’s dignity is a small matter. Register the FIR. Arrest Dhaval Dave. Or answer Gujarat why one woman’s honour gets a case and another woman’s honour gets silence. Chronology of Gujarat floods ! -Madhya Pradesh's Indirasagar Dam released 9.45 lakh cusecs of water into Narmada, days before PM's birthday so that the Narmada Dam reservoir reaches maximum water levels before PM's birthday on September 17. -On the day of PM's birthday, as part of the celebration, all the floodgates of the dam are thrown wide open to release water. -Mindlessly, 18 lakh cusecs of water gets released at one go. -As a result, Bharuch, Vadodara and Narmada districts of Gujarat gets flooded. -As you can see in the video, flood water enters homes and residential societies. -Thousands of people are left helpless, houses destroyed and some forced to take shelter on the roof of the houses as water submerged their homes. -Meanwhile, people from Saurashtra, North Gujarat and Kutch had been demanding water for a month now but it was not being released. It was kept on hold for the PM's birthday. -The water could easily have been released in a phased to these regions few days prior as a red alert was already issued and there was going to be more water in the dam. But does that count for a birthday celebration? No right? -They waited for the PM's birthday to release the water. Is customer really a king or a slave? Heard my colleagues speak about the long queues at stores to buy iPhone15. Some people even traveled from Gujarat to Mumbai and stayed in a queue for some 17 hours to grab an iPhone. In Delhi, a fight broke out at an iPhone store leading to blows from both sides. This makes one ponder over a few things: 1. While I understand that iPhone is a good phone but standing in queue for 17 hours? 2. Having a sleepless night outside a store so that you are first in the queue in the morning ? 3. Travelling to a different city/state to buy an iPhone? Are we that much out of work? 4. Is a month's wait a lot of time when the product readily gets available at our nearby stores? 5. Also, most in the queue might already have an iPhone but are in line to get the latest device. Does it warrant the madness? 6. This leads me to think if the customer is really the king or a slave to a brand? As a society, we clearly need to course correct our madness. Gone are the days when somebody asked you about the phone you carry. So, wake up! We have reached the moon. Evening thoughts!
