Autism is strongly heritable but only weakly genetic. Gosh I wonder how could that could be.

Enjoy some skiing with my amazing daughter with profound autism, Sophie. No, she doesn't need diapers and she isn't self-injurious *but she will need 24/7 care for the rest of her life*. She can't talk, read or write. She can't understand even the most simple abstractions. Her functional level is below a preschooler (despite being dope on skis : )). We should NEVER trivialize the ravages of #autism while at the same time giving our beloved kids the best life possible.
