Yaxel Lendeborg on Coach Frank Vogel telling him he’d be guarding Luka Doncic in the last preseason game: “I’m on my phone chilling. He walks up to me, ‘Hey, you're guarding Luka tonight.’ I said, ‘What the fuck?’ Like, he's just going to throw me in. I'm like, ‘What the hell?’ So, I tried to act all cool and not spooked. But I was spooked, man. That's crazy. But yeah, I mean after that he just said like, I think he averages 30 to 35 so he’s like, ‘Nobody can stop him. Do your best.’ I mean, my mind was all over the place after that, but we come here, they say he's not playing… It was a complete shift of what I had planned in my mind.” (via Vegas Sports Today)

Yaxel Lendeborg on whether he feels he made a good first impression on Steph and Draymond with his Summer League run: “Yeah, I hope so man. I don’t know if Draymond… I hope Draymond likes it man, ‘cause we’ve been over here going back and forth. But I mean, the Michigan thing, you know, we’re bringing dubs, we bring championships, we win. So I mean, you got to respect it, you feel me? So go Dubs, and hopefully them boys can enjoy seeing what they saw. And when it comes time to play in the regular season, hopefully they stay with me.”

Steph Curry on the possibility of playing with LeBron James: “I’d say more so I’m interested to just play golf with LeBron. We’ll handle the basketball stuff, but I want to see the golf LeBron free agent. He’s out here really grinding on the game. But I’m sure we obviously would love to play together. I mean, hopefully it happens. But he’s deserved the opportunity and the right to take his time with the decision.”

Yaxel Lendeborg on the “million questions” he asked Draymond, Steph, and Jimmy at the Warriors mini-camp: “I’m asking everything that comes to mind. Like, ‘Why did you wear this outfit instead of that one today?’ Or like, ‘Why did you make this play right here instead of passing it there? What did you see to make you not take this read?’ Stuff like that. And then I was asking a lot about the defensive rotations. ‘Why did you rotate here so early? Did you know that was going to happen? Is that a play, or is that just you reading?’ So I'm doing a lot of that. Jimmy, I was asking questions about like, his shimmy jab, you know, trying to learn that. And then Steph, the same thing, like conditioning. ‘How did you work like this? How did you get this up?’ So, I have a lot more questions to ask soon, too.” (via Warriors on NBCS

Jordan Poole was asked about Steph Curry signing his contract extension at his Pelicans Media Day presser: “Steph’s one of the greatest players to play in our league, and he’s one of the, if not, the greatest shooter. You know, work ethic, the situation that he’s kind of been able to grow in, learn in, be groomed in, stay over there in Golden State for I think it’s, I don’t know, 15-16 years or however long he’s been playing. He has a sense of familiarity with the guys, and he’s just a hardworker, and I think his game speaks for itself. And it helps that he’s been able to be a little bit comfortable, play the game and get comfortable with the system and the guys around him in the front office. Obviously, they have a lot of different teammates and changes as you try to make championship level runs, but you know, he is a big part of that Warriors organization, rightfully so. And credit to him. That’s the big homie, so I’ll reach out if I need anything, and we have conversations and stuff and chop it up over the season and course of the summer. But you know, tremendous guy, hadworker, tremendous athlete and one of the best to play our game.”

Steph Curry on the social media chatter that the Warriors’ front office hasn’t done enough to build a competitive team around him: “I mean, I'm not an idiot. I know what it means in the sense of that window we had where coming off of ‘22, there were opportunities to get better, add new talent, and some worked out, some didn't. And the jury is still out on how we end this entire journey with a competitive mindset. We knew there's never really going to be a scenario where you're going to be in the favorites conversation from a championship-contending perspective. There's so many great teams out there. But for us to go through a year like we did last year where we had, and the year before in the playoffs, I get hurt, we take an early exit in second round. Last year, I missed 40 whatever games. Availability was the biggest theme and we're still one game away from getting to a playoff run and who knows what happens. So, all that to say, I've had a really amazing career and journey. I want to win. All the other chatter doesn't necessarily matter to me in terms of how I grade our seasons.” (via NBC Sports Bay Area & CA

Steph Curry’s pitch to LeBron James on Good Morning America: “The Bay, we know how to win, beautiful weather, great golf… I know he’s into that. But like you said, the USA experience that we had, the battles that we had over the years, we just know how to play basketball. And I think that he’ll enjoy just the idea of what it means to finish your career the right way. He knows what he wants, and eventually he’ll make that decision. It’s totally up to him, but we’re having fun with it, knowing that he’s got his pick of the entire league, wherever he wants to go, to be honest.”

Yaxel said Steph Curry welcomed him and Lajae to the Warriors groupchat: “Steph actually welcomed both of us in the groupchat the night of the drafts, when he (Lajae) got drafted, I got drafted. And I reached out to him yesterday I asked one quick question and then I reached out to Draymond as well but I haven’t gotten a response back yet from Draymond.”

Yaxel Lendeborg on the bigger challenge for him as a rookie: “I would say the defensive adjustments, man. I get buckets regardless, you know. So I mean, just being able to figure out where I gotta be defensively and what rotations I gotta make and where I gotta be. If I gotta be there earlier, out, later, you know, something I’ve been talking to Draymond with a lot just to figure it out.”

Steph Curry said he asked Kyrie Irving if he was cool with him wearing his shoes since he hasn’t worn them himself on the court: “It’s nothing but mutual respect and admiration for what he’s done in his career. The battles that we’ve had, the deeper you get into it, you appreciate the fact that his talent kind of raised your level throughout the journey. We don’t get to spend that much time together, but there’s that mutual respect. At the All-Star Game, had an amazing conversation. I hit him up before tonight to make sure he was cool with me wearing his shoes, because I know he hasn’t had a chance to debut them himself on the court. He said the admiration goes both ways. I appreciate greatness, and it’s kind of been fun throughout this process to shine a light on competitors, rivals, friends, guys that mean a lot to you.”
