Drake has expressed this sentiment in several of his songs, yet he's constantly characterised as this degenerate who rejects wholesome romance. I think most humans want love and commitment. Especially in a lonely industry where everyone is out to get you. However, people underestimate how difficult it is to find a sincere and stable relationship when you're no longer viewed as a person. Drake represents a lot of things to a lot of people, good or bad, and when he naturally steps out of the frame they've placed him in, they're shocked that he isn't a character in a movie. He's a complicated, messy human being, just like everyone else. How do you establish a real relationship when the basic prerequisite of being viewed as a person isn't being met? It becomes harder to trust people, but you can't swear off intimacy, so you engage in the cheap, short-term versions of it, which leads to all sorts of rumours and scandals, which only fuels people's preconceived notions of you, which makes it even harder to find love. It's an extremely messy feedback loop. I'm not saying it's impossible for him to settle down, and I'm not saying he bears no responsibility for the women he chooses to associate with, but I wonder how most of us would fare in his position.

I'll never respect people who try to discredit everything Drake has done. These individuals are extremely dishonest, because they're the same people that will have him in their top 5 most listened to artists at the end of the year. There's no erasing having the most hits of any artist ever. There's no erasing breaking records set by the Beatles and Michael Jackson. There's no erasing having the most diamond certifications. There's no erasing having 14-year-old albums being played more than the most recent releases. His music has been the soundtrack to the lives of people all around the globe. This is why the Drake Elimination Plot, which y'all love to downplay, was an absolute failure. The reality is that people will let the rest of the rap game fall into poverty before they turn on Drake. Why do you think the genre is having one of its worst years ever, while Drake is having his best? Truth always wins over narratives. Drake is the Greatest Rapper of All Time. And his story is still being written.
