New video of Scottie Scheffler speaking with police. Says he didn’t know Detective Gillis was a police officer and he thought it was a security guard who didn’t know he was instructed to go around traffic. It’s rare that anything good comes from talking to the police in a situation like this. Here, he’s being asked intentionally leading questions and was better off saying nothing. The purpose of the line of questioning here seems like it was to get Scottie to admit he knew it was a police officer, despite Scottie saying 4-5x he did not know that. Regardless, the 2nd Degree Assault charge only requires that Scottie *intentionally* caused injury to another through the use of a dangerous instrument (the car). Does anybody actually believe Scottie purposely intended to run down some security guards at the Valhalla entrance on his way to his tee time? Hopefully they drop the charges today and end this charade.
