Republicans refuse to lower healthcare costs. Older Texans that are too young for Medicare will be hit the hardest. Theresa Hebert is one of the more than 3 million Texans who rely on healthcare subsidies. Without ACA tax credits, her premium will cost $1,000/month.

Dr. Rubeliz Bolivar Barrios has been released! She should never have been locked away by ICE. As an emergency and trauma doctor, she served patients in South Texas with dedication. I am grateful that she will be reunited with her 5 year-old daughter Milena and husband.

ICE is running a for profit industry and locking up people like Texas court interpreter Meenu Batra, DACA recipient Juan Velasco, and Doctor Ezequiel Véliz. We've seen ICE detain, deport, and kill U.S. citizens. I am voting NO on the shutdown deal. ICE does not deserve another taxpayer dollar.
