I keep thinking about this garden hose. This is what I found at my house when I was able to check on it, mid-fire. Fully extended, by the fence. A neighbor or firefighter used it to fight the fire on the edge of my property. Whoever it was helped save our house. 🙏🏻 #PalisadesFire

Palisades Charter High School is largely destroyed and still burning, though the brick structures are mostly standing. The pool may have helped. Students travel here from all across Los Angeles. Other local schools were also destroyed, though I think Seven Arrows survived. (7/15)

Johannesburg’s City Council rejected a motion to rescind the renaming of Sandton Drive for Palestinian terrorist Leila Khaled (to force the U.S. Consulate there to use her name on its letterhead). Helpfully, the renaming would create another savings for DOGE: close the consulate.

To my fellow Jewish voters: it’s OK to vote for Trump. The argument, if you have to have one, is simple: four years of peace.

It is false for ⁦Charlie Kirk⁩ to equate those who would stop a nuclear Iran with those who were “perfectly fine” with the Iraq War. There is an attempt on the right to begin rationalizing a potential weak deal enabling a nuclear Iran. It will not work; Iran is not India.

I defended ⁦JD Vance⁩ at RJC. He spoke out for the U.S.-Israel alliance at ⁦Quincy Institute⁩; he just visited Israel. OK, he could have answered better at ⁦Turning Point USA⁩, but while we Jews are understandably sensitive to antisemitism, we should not overreact to friends.

This is what is left of Tahitian Terrace. The burned car reminded me of damage I saw in Israel after October 7 (though the context is different, and no one died in the Palisades). Fires were still smoldering on the ground and the higher reaches of the road looked dangerous (3/15)
