Raised the issue in the Rajya Sabha today regarding the Delhi Police's attempt to enter AKG Bhavan and arrest Aishe (ঐশী) former JNU Students' Union President, SFI leader, and one of the prominent faces of the Jantar Mantar protests. I also demanded that Union Home Minister Amit Shah respond to this matter. All opposition parties came forward in support in the House, and the Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha, Sh. Mallikarjun Kharge, and entire opposition also spoke in solidarity. Ultimately, due to the strong protest by the opposition, the Rajya Sabha Chairman was forced to adjourn the proceedings #aisheghosh #jantarmantarprotest

What blatant arrogance!.. Police are arriving to make arrests wearing neither uniforms nor nameplates, and the Delhi Police have barged into a political party office without permission. When I raised the issue of police high-handedness inside AKG Bhavan in the House, the opposition supported it in unison. Speaking in solidarity, Leader of the Opposition Sh. Mallikarjun Kharge stated that the Delhi Police's actions were disgraceful and that democracy is under threat, demanding an apology from those responsible. However, Leader of the House Sh. J.P. Nadda attempted to deflect the issue by claiming it was merely routine procedure and mentioning that even he had faced similar action during the Emergency. Crucially, it was Mr. J.P. Nadda himself who had previously represented the government in talks with the protesters and assured them that no action would be taken against the students. #jantarmantarprotest #studentsprotest

Deepak Kumar entered the scene in Kotdwar, in the foothills of the Himalayas, when Bajrang Dal activists began harassing an elderly man named Muhammad. This communal rampage took place on Republic Day—a day that should instead radiate the messages of brotherhood, coexistence, and equality. Standing as a savior before the helpless Muhammad, Deepak Kumar single-handedly confronted a mob of nearly 150 predators. Realizing that Deepak, a gym trainer, possessed significant physical strength, the messengers of hate beat a retreat. However, they did not forget to ask his name as they withdrew. The young man did not hesitate for even half a second before responding: 'My name is Muhammad Deepak.' Today, despite being a Hindu, Deepak takes immense pride in having protected a destitute elderly Muslim man.
