The vicious attacker who attempted to murder a man in north Belfast last night is now in police custody. My thoughts remain with the victim, his family & the local residents who witnessed such traumatic & distressing scenes. The courage & quick actions of local people & the police who intervened to disarm the attacker undoubtedly prevented further harm & deserve the highest praise. I was on the ground today speaking with local people & will continue to engage closely with the community & the PSNI as the investigation progresses. We must allow justice to take its course & ensure the perpetrator faces the full weight of the law.

Israeli war criminals should be before the courts, not Mo Chara of Kneecap. Sinn Féin joined with huge crowds at court in solidarity with Liam Óg Ó hAnnaidh & the people of Palestine. The Irish people will not be silenced by the British establishment. Saoirse don Phalaistín! 🇵🇸

Those who are starving children & committing genocide should be before the courts, not Mo Chara of Kneecap. Sinn Féin joined with crowds at the courts in solidarity with Liam Óg Ó hAnnaidh. The British establishment will not silence the Irish people. Saoirse don Phalaistín!🇵🇸

The new British Prime Minister, Andy Burnham, must respect the right of the people of Ireland to determine our own future. A positive & healthy debate about a new & united Ireland is already underway in all four corners of this island. It is only sensible & responsible that both governments work together & begin preparations in advance of a referendum.

The acquittal of Soldier F is an incredibly disappointing day for the families of Bloody Sunday. Their campaign for truth & justice has inspired so many families, including my own. It remains one of the gravest injustices in our history that, after 53 years, not a single person has been convicted in relation to Bloody Sunday. My full support & solidarity are with these families. Their resolve, courage & tenacity are admirable. My party & I will continue to stand with them in their fight for justice.

For too long, Israel has been allowed to commit war crimes & breach international law without consequence. Peace in Gaza must have the full backing & involvement of Palestinians. The international community must step up, end their arming & funding of Israel, & bring this genocide to an end.

Irish unity will create better opportunities & unlock the full potential of our entire island. Westminster has shown time & again that it does not care about people here. Our future lies in a stronger, fairer, united Ireland, where decisions are taken here at home in the best interests of all our people.

Building a new & united Ireland is about taking control of our own affairs & making decisions in the best interests of the people who live here. I want to see properly funded public services & a future where young people don’t feel they have to leave these shores in search of better opportunities. A future built on hope & prosperity for everyone who calls this island home, free from Westminster’s neglect.

This case was never about democracy, public safety, or justice. It’s about the British state using the courts to police culture, criminalise dissent, & decide which voices are acceptable. When prosecutors keep returning to a case that has already fallen, it raises serious questions about motive, not merit. Today in London, I stood in solidarity with Mo Chara and Kneecap. You cannot silence artists, movements, or a people through intimidation or legal pressure. The more this approach is pursued, the clearer it becomes that freedom of expression is what’s really on trial.

The DUP is blocking: 👶🏼 Paid leave for parents when their baby needs neonatal care. ❌ An end to exploitative zero-hour contracts. 💰 Ensuring workers keep 100% of their tips. 🤝 Stronger protections for agency workers & unpaid carers. These are part of our Good Jobs Bill, backed by the vast majority of parties. Sinn Féin will not give up. We will work together with others to get these laws passed & better the lives of workers and families.

It is time to begin planning & preparing for a new, united Ireland. Westminster has never served, & will never serve, the best interests of workers, families & public services here. Only by taking control of our own affairs, with all decisions made at home, can we realise our full potential.
