After four years reporting in Russia and Ukraine. I’m back in the UK. And unlike others who have promoted peace in Europe. It looks like I’m free. There needs to be peace in Europe. History will damn those who promote the continued slaughter of our people and of our economies!

"If all this can happen to me. Imagine what can happen to others." I interviewed George Galloway and his wonderful wife Gayatri in Moscow this week. About their exile in Russia. And its so crazy. British police even interrogated Gayatri about the Palestine flag painted on her fingernail! "Essentially the government will be able to designate any individual or organization as acting against the British state." And he's scared of getting that 4am knock on the door. So one of Britains most famous political figures went into exile. And what has he done? Promoted peace with Russia. Well, that's in British interests. Promoted peace with Iran. Well, that's in British interests. Its not in British interests what Isreal is doing in Gaza either. And so how has he damaged British interests? The British security state is out of control. Britain in not sovreign. Those in charge are acting in foreign interests. And everyone knows it. That is the problem. George Galloway gayatri 🍀

“Putin is for peace.” I interviewed Leonid Slutskiy at the Ritz in Moscow. Parliamentary Chairman of Foreign Affairs. He ran for President at the last election. And warns of the catastrophic loss of life in Europe. If peace is not found in this pivotal moment of world history

You know. I hope this war in Ukraine ends soon. Its so dumb. You know. I remember driving on the outskirts of Donetsk when incoming hit. And artillery raced out from the trees. A couple of wounded soldiers jumped off. One of them was limping bad. And they bundled themselves into our car. And we raced them to hospital. The blood dripping all over the backseat. And when we got to the hospital. There was a pick up truck. The open back soaked in blood. We hung around for a while. And our guy came out and sat on the curb. His leg soaked black. But he was alright. He was a big, good looking guy. Coulda been a movie star. Instead sucking on a carton of juice with his head bowed while his comrade died on the operating table inside. Really its so dumb. Russians and Ukrainians killing eachother. Because of incompetant British and American foreign policy. Its just so dumb.

A lot of talk of NATO countries trying to blow up the Crimean bridge. I crossed it six months ago. Most people were just going on their holidays. The lovely old woman I shared a cabin with, who kindly made my bed for me, was heading to a sanatorium. Europe has gone mad.

“They lack strategic vision. I recall dealing with British and European diplomats 20 years ago. They had strategic vision. They knew where they were heading.” Not any more. I asked Dmitry Polyansky, Russia’s deputy Ambassador at the UN about the standard of British and European diplomats now. His response could be dismissed as the predicable words of the Russian delegation. But anyone paying attention to the madness and mediocrity emanating from the corridors of power in Brussels and London. Frankly, know it to be true. It is very clear that the British and European foreign policy establishments are not working in our people’s interests.
