When stroke hit 19 weeks ago I was left limping dragging my left leg along. Pushing myself to run helped me regain strength in my leg. And I’ll be running a 10k for Nacoa 🔆 in July. Everyone’s stroke recovery is different. But running, Lego, piano & Shakespeare is helping me.

It was a privilege to serve Leicester South. You’ll always have my thanks. It’s disappointing to no longer be your MP but to all whose cares were my concern through hard Tory times, I’m delighted we have a Labour government that will make life better for people across Leicester.

🎹 Four months into stroke recovery. The four pillars of my ongoing recovery; piano, Lego, Shakespeare and running. Piano helps through activating the motor cortex, auditory processing, memory and visual pathways. And it’s a lovely fun new hobby too. #stroke #strokerecovery

5 million people in the UK could be living with dangerously high blood pressure and have no idea. Get your blood pressure checked out. You can go to your local chemist for a test. You could avoid a stroke like what hit me. And here’s some piano which is helping my recovery
