I was driving home from seeing a movie with my kids while using FSD. Suddenly encountered a cop car with its lights flashing - the car was blocking off the road. FSD came to a stop and then tried to creep around the car while the cop was grabbing a gun out of his trunk. 🤯 I had to disengage to avoid pissing him off. I rolled down my window and asked politely if I could go through there. He said, “No, you gotta pop a U-turn.” That’s when I saw 3 police hiding behind bushes and waiting next to someone’s front door. A man came running into the yard where two cops peacefully detained him. Not sure if that man was the main threat, but I was off the scene from there. How should FSD handle these situations when a driver isn’t in the driver’s seat? Is it appropriate to drive through a crime scene when a cop shouts to you to not go through there?

Please be careful and never let your guard down while using Tesla’s FSD. The terms are very clear when you turn it on: “FSD requires a fully attentive driver who is ready to take immediate action at all times.” You absolutely need to pay attention!! Even the latest version 12.3.6, which is very good, can be very dangerous. I was testing in Chicago on Lower Wacker Dr two weeks ago and FSD almost killed me. It was going to drive straight into a barrier at 22mph. It could have caused a serious accident. This happened not just once, but twice. Second time going 27mph. Since I haven’t been able to get any replies or feedback from the Autopilot team whenever I submit data like this, I’m tagging all of the relevant people. Here is GM’s Adaptive Cruise Control with “Lane Keep” turned on. This is a 2024 Chevy Blazer. I tested this as safely as possible with the exception of holding a phone to record it (sorry!). How can my 2019 Tesla Model 3 be so much better at this when it was manufactured 5 years prior? Please. Help it make sense to me. Please.

In this short clip w/ v14 Lite on HW3, I had to intervene to press on the accelerator to move past the construction workers. Unlike my human eyes, the cameras did not recognize the truck driver motioning with his hand for me to drive past him. I pushed it to the last second before I intervened. Shortly after that, I had to disengage to prevent my car from running over a metal fitting at the end of a construction hose that was lying in the road. For those of you who are regularly using v14 (AI4), can you please comment on any different behaviors that may have taken place? How in the world would you maintain an FSD streak in a situation like this? I really want to know because this scenario is not completely abnormal. Chris Dirty Tesla showed an example of FSD V12 not responding to a ball being thrown in front of it. However, he didn’t test with FSD v12.6.4 and he admitted that in the comments. This version is very different than 12.3.6 and other previous versions. It’s more of a “v13 lite” than anything else. Those who have it know that it’ll stop for squirrels crossing the road. Here are some tests I did with a similar ball using FSD v12.6.4.

My trip in India is so great. And the food!! ❤️❤️❤️ Pani Puri is my favorite by far. I also love the Dosa and Aloo Bhaji w/ Puri. The Idli is good, and I also liked the Uttapam. Another favorite, especially from Goa, was the Dal Makhani. I also tried Pav Bhaji. I thought the fresh lime soda with sugar and a little salt was good, too. One more day in Pune, then I’m off to Mumbai (Bombay).

V14 LITE vs. DRIVE THRU: I think it's very cool how V14 Lite has inherited some higher level intelligence from its bigger brother. It actually stops at the right places while going through a drive thru now. 🤯This is next level. You have to watch it to believe it. And the crazy part? There was no lead car in front of my 2019 Model 3 to stop it. This is definitely new behavior and it's way different than Full Self-Driving v12.6.4. Congratulations again to the entire Tesla AI team for a job well done here. I'm continually amazed at some of the things I'm seeing here in Chicago. Please ship it for wider release, I think it's ready.
