DJ Akademiks says Drake can basically PREDICT when different parts of his music will start hitting, and says he watched it happen in real time with the 3-album rollout DJ Akademiks says Drake broke down which project would work for which season and audience, even telling him when the women-focused music would start taking off: “He described his music just like that, and lo and behold, I kind of saw it come true.” DJ Akademiks says it made him realize Drake is thinking way beyond just making songs: “I’m like, he scripted this. This wasn’t by chance.” Adam22 adds that Lena The Plug saw the same thing while shooting with Drake, saying he was constantly brainstorming concepts while the video team struggled to keep up. Ak says when he first worked with Drake on Iceman, he was shocked by how hands-on he was: “There’s no way this motherfucker’s working this hard.” DJ Akademiks says Drake is simultaneously directing, trolling, thinking about memes and shaping the rollout on the fly: “His work schedule is ridiculous.” Via No Jumper

DJ Akademiks says Drake knows EXACTLY what Drake’s doing with those closing FOMO bars and is basically throwing bait into the middle of the Kendrick Lamar conversation DJ Akademiks says lines like “we from the Dot, you can’t compare to us” and “fuck all that circle shit, I’m squaring up” are designed to send rap media into overdrive. “Drake’s a ragebaiter, bro. Rage baiter to the max.” DJ Akademiks also points to Drake saying people turned a “molehill” into a mountain and are willing to “die up on this hill” as Drake mocking how seriously people are taking the whole thing.
