🚨One Dangerous Overtake Can Change Everything The result was a serious collision that caused the 14-seater to overturn. This is a reminder that overtaking is not a game of chance. Before overtaking, make sure the road ahead is clear, you have enough visibility and there is sufficient space to complete the manoeuvre safely. One reckless decision can cost lives. Let’s slow down, be patient and respect every road user. 🛣️🙏 #RoadSafety

A disturbing incident unfolded in Eastleigh after a bodaboda rider was involved in a collision with a car. Traffic police arrived at the scene to assess what had happened and determine who was at fault. According to witnesses, after the officers found that the car driver was responsible, the driver became angry. Instead of accepting the outcome, he allegedly threw away the bodaboda rider's water bottle in frustration. Disagreements after accidents are understandable, but anger and disrespect only make situations worse. Every road user deserves to be treated with dignity, and disputes should be resolved calmly and through the law. Let's promote patience, accountability, and mutual respect on our roads. A moment of self-control can prevent unnecessary conflict.

A Delivery That Changed My Day Today, while doing my daily delivery work to earn a living, I came across a heartbreaking road accident along Mombasa Road. An electric motorcycle rider had been hit by a speeding car. I arrived moments after the collision. Although I was too late to prevent it, together with other good Samaritans we helped the injured rider and rushed him to the hospital. The incident stayed with me the whole day. It reminded me how quickly life can change on our roads. To all electric motorcycle riders, please ride with extra caution. Some helmets have built-in earphones, and if you're listening to music or talking through them, you may not hear a horn, a warning, or an approaching vehicle—especially on busy highways. Road safety is everyone's responsibility. Drivers, riders, cyclists, and pedestrians all need to look out for one another. Slow down, stay alert, avoid distractions, and remember that every person on the road is someone's loved one. Let's protect each other. One careful decision can save a life. 🚦🛵❤️

This morning at the Pangani–Murang'a Road flyover, another painful reminder of where crime can lead unfolded before our eyes. Two young men, neatly dressed and full of energy, allegedly attempted to snatch a phone before the victim raised the alarm, shouting, "Mwizi! Mwizi!" The suspects were caught by members of the public before police arrived. Tragically, the motorcycle rider died at the scene, while the other suspect was taken to the hospital in critical condition. It is heartbreaking to think that someone may leave home telling their family they are going to work, while secretly engaging in criminal activities. No phone—whether an iPhone or a Samsung—is worth risking your life, your future, or another person's safety. A motorcycle itself is a valuable investment, but a human life is priceless. As a bodaboda rider, I want to make it clear that the vast majority of riders earn an honest living. We do not want criminals hiding behind our industry and damaging the reputation of hardworking riders. That is why we worked with security officers to ensure the situation was handed over to the authorities. To my fellow bodaboda riders: be careful who you lend your motorcycle to. You may trust a friend, but you may not know everything they do outside your presence. Protect your livelihood, protect your name, and protect our industry. Let's continue working together with law enforcement to make Nairobi safer. Crime has no place in our communities, and every rider has a responsibility to stand for honesty, safety, and the rule of law. Enough is enough.
