UCLA C Cashel Duggar has one of the highest floors in the draft and has the upside to be a really solid MLB backstop. He is one of it not the best defensive catchers in the draft doing everything really well. He averaged a 1.86 pop time in game and held runners to a 62% SB clip against him which falls to 58% at 2B. He also moves very well behind the plate as a blocker and receiver. While the defense is the big highlight, Duggar has shown a very mature approach at the plate with a 17% K% compared to 14% BB% in 2026. He kept the Whiff and Chase rates under 20% as well. He finished the year slashing just .250/.378/.380. However the mature approach on top of the great frame at 6'2 200 pounds and being left handed hitter makes a lot of scouts love the upside. His defense is already near MLB ready and if he can become just a below average MLB hitter he will be a long term backup backstop. If the bat progresses even a little bit he has the upside to be a top 10-15 catcher in baseball.

Arizona State INF Nu'u Contrades has one of the most underrated pure hit tools in this 2026 class. The redshirt junior slashed .366/.434/.762 with 21 HRs and 15 2Bs this season while posting an insanely low 12% K%. The bat to ball skills have always been off the charts but this year he was able to show a real power tool that he had not shown before. A little undersized at 5'10 195, Contrades is also a very aggressive hitter posting way above average swing rates and chase rates. However his elite bat to ball skills have helped him not get in too much trouble with it. He has played some 2B and 3B at Arizona State but settled in mainly at 2B being an average defender over there. Contrades is a fun player with a very good hit tool to look at down the board, and could be a huge steal for a team.
