This defendant, Moussa Konte, who was in this country illegally, turned a one‑bedroom apartment into a drug warehouse stocked with fentanyl, cocaine, cash, money counters and ammo, creating a direct threat to public safety. He is now in custody. This case demonstrates how traffickers can operate quietly and boldly in our own neighborhoods. But they need to understand this: the District is not open for their business. We will find them, shut them down, and take their profits off the table.

The First Amendment will be respected in the District of Columbia. Threatening to detonate explosives at St. Matthew’s Cathedral during the Red Mass threatened a sacred space, endangered officers and parishioners, and disrupted an important religious tradition. Defendant Geri was sentenced to 70 months in federal prison. This sentence reflects the seriousness of his conduct and our commitment to protecting every community from threats and violence.

These defendants terrorized the victim, and took hostage and executed his innocent dog as part of a calculated scheme to extort him. They conspired to intimidate and coerce the victim over a dispute involving a vehicle, and their actions culminated in the horrific execution of a defenseless Husky. Animal cruelty and violent extortion are serious federal crimes, and my office will pursue accountability to the fullest extent of the law.
