Is the African tech ecosystem learning from its failures or making the same mistakes over and over again? I fear the same mistakes are being made over and over again. Knowledge compounds, but when knowledge & wisdom & lessons are not shared, the compounding gets hampered. I spoke about it with Adia Sowho - who's doing her part to share and try to convince her peers to share too. But as she says, the elder statewomen and men need safe spaces too. (We're talking a lot about failure and lessons on @TheFlipAfrica - I hope it's becoming a safe space!) On the ecosystem level - Kola Aina yesterday tweeted his criticism of those who celebrate a startup's failure. I could not agree more - I have nothing but respect for those who went for went for it and didn't make it. Founding a startup is hard and most will fail. Inside of the failures are the lessons, which make it easier for the next cycle of founders to succeed. Isn't widespread success what we ultimately want? Kola finished his thread by saying, "To the builders, keep building!"
