This already happened to me in Lake Tapawingo—and now it’s happening again in Lake Lotawana. I’m out here door knocking when two older residents followed me, interrogated me, and told me, “You didn’t need to be out there.” I told them I’m a candidate running for the county. The cops have been called on me, but I’m still going to continue and finish my door knocking. I’m not doing anything wrong. There’s probably a reason that their door wasn’t on my list in the first place. This is the reality of door knocking as a young Black candidate in Missouri—and it’s sad, but it won’t stop me. 👉 You can donate to our movement:

Let’s be absolutely clear: The protesters at the Kansas City Hands Off Protest were peaceful protesting. Yet, this individual not only exited his truck once, but twice in the middle of traffic, and in full view, he threw himself into this altercation to assaulting multiple peaceful demonstrators. These were civilians standing up for their beliefs. According to his own Facebook, he claims “liberals were in his way.” Targeting a group of people simply for their views is as domestic terrorism. We can’t sugarcoat this any longer: this was an act of terror directed at peaceful protesters by a violent thug. This is the truth, and we must call it what it is. He should’ve never exited his vehicle, and for those who may say that he was defending himself, most people who defend themselves don’t do it twice—as he did when he left his truck twice to go and harm civilians protesting. He wanted to harm liberals.

The Chiefs aren’t leaving because Kansas is better—They’re leaving because Jackson County isn’t projecting stability. When a county can’t manage property taxes, basic duties, or govern without chaos, billion dollar organizations notice. So do employers. So do residents. This is bigger than stadiums. It’s about confidence, competence, and whether our elected leaders can be trusted with the future. Right now, they’re failing—and our residents are paying the price.

VIDEO PROOF: Those supporting this guy claimed our protesters were blocking traffic, but as you can see in this video, is anyone standing in front of the truck? No. They also alleged that protesters were damaging his truck—yet, do we see anyone touching it? No. What we do see is an enraged, little man exiting his truck, not once, but twice, to harm peaceful protesters on camera. And let’s not forget his own words, posted on his own Facebook, where he openly targets liberals and boasts about using his truck to instill fear in this community. We have footage of him repeatedly revving his engine, and we’ve captured multiple angles showing him as the clear aggressor. He is the bully, the instigator, and, by every definition, a domestic terrorist. The protesters were simply standing on the sidewalk when he chose to escalate the situation, leaping out of his vehicle to attack them.

I just had a deeply unsettling and racist encounter while knocking doors in Lake Tapawingo: I was speaking with a kind older resident at a door when another woman suddenly interrupted our conversation and asked her, “Ma’am, are you okay?” The woman I was speaking to replied, “Yeah, why would you ask that?” She responded, “I was just making sure he’s not dangerous,” and then aggressively confronted me about why I was in the neighborhood—afterward, she followed me down the street with a hooked pole and remove my campaign literature from a doorstep. I asked her to leave my card alone and she said, “I don’t have to and I’m not going to.” After she realized I had started filming for my own safety, she quickly shifted the narrative—suddenly claiming the issue was about soliciting in the neighborhood. Let me be clear: this behavior does not represent the many good-hearted people I’ve had the privilege of meeting here. Yes, it shook me. But I’m not backing down. I came here to meet voters, listen, and serve—and that’s exactly what I intend to keep doing.

The Kansas City Chiefs must speak up. Members of our community deserve to know the values of this organization—an organization we all pay for. This is a time for the team to lean in and embrace the community, not remain silent when groups of people are being harmed here locally.

🚨The Missouri Highway Patrol just told us that the east side of the interstate is completely shutdown and that we will be here unable to move for the rest there night. Several folks are low on gas or without it. They told us to conserve fuel and that FEMA will be messaging us.
