Celtics owner Bill Chisholm joined The Greg Hill Show for the 24th annual WEEI/NESN Jimmy Fund Radio-Telethon and discussed the Jaylen Brown trade: "I truly believe we have the best front office in the NBA, and I think it's a source of advantage for us every day. So I definitely have a level of trust in Brad and his team. But man, as a fan, that was tough. I really needed to be convinced to take the fan passion out of it, because I'm a super fan, was tough. You have to be a sociopath if you don't worry a little bit about what other fans are going to think... We've got the best brains in basketball, and this was something they had conviction around."

Jaylen Brown on this: “I take everything personally, lowkey. I'm always looking for something. But yeah, I felt like I've sacrificed over the years in order for us to be a championship-caliber team. And I think now, we're getting to see that a little bit. What exactly I was capable of, and what I was sacrificing. I think, before, maybe it wasn't so obvious. I think now, being able to be at the helm of things, and us being the second seed in the east, versus last year we finished second seed in the east. It's almost been no drop off with four players, five players that are essentially gone. The work from the coaching staff. The work from our leadership has has been great. And you know, I just try to make myself available every single night.”

Jrue Holiday says he’s not surprised by the Celtics’ success this season: “Not that surprised. I knew that they’d do well. Knowing the type of determination that this coaching staff and organization has… I figured that they would be be good. And then obviously, knowing Jaylen, I feel like he takes a lot of things personally. He doesn't accept a lot, especially when it comes to being bad.”

Jaylen Brown discussed Jayson Tatum’s return on his twitch stream: “It’s good to see, not only my brother back out there, but more importantly, besides basketball, the mental aspect… to see my boy smiling and seeing him out there having fun doing what he loves to do…That was a victory in itself.”

Joe Mazzulla on dealing with praise: “Praise is just as dangerous as criticism. You just have to remind yourself that neither one lasts too long. And, really, at the end of the day, they're going to forget about you eventually. This is all just a short-term thing that’s going to last a few years, and then 10-15, years from now, nobody is going to talk about you. So it really doesn’t matter.”

Joe Mazzulla on Giannis Antetokounmpo’s comments: “My reaction was like, you can't do anything unless you have the players. I say it a lot, but it’s just that simple. I think the greatest gift you can have as a coach, especially in the NBA, is a group of players that have a high competitive character, care about winning and want to get better.”

Jayson Tatum says he’s isn’t really looking forward to going back to MSG on Thursday: “I thought about it. I’m not like thrilled to go back and play there. Last time I played there, obviously, it was a traumatic experience for me. Obviously, I knew, at some point, I would have to get over that hurdle and play there again.”

Bill Chisholm reiterates to The Greg Hill Show that he is willing to do whatever it takes to win: "We're not playing for second. We're playing to win and to raise banners. Someone joked and was calling me in the beginning 'Billy Banners' because I said that, and I want to earn that, and I haven't yet. I think we have the ingredients to do it, and certainly the commitment... We'll do whatever it takes. I'm desperate to win."

Joe Mazzulla on being with Jayson Tatum through every step of his recovery: “Whenever I could lift with him, whenever I could be there for treatment, whenever I could rebound for him, I think it was important to do that… I was there the first time he walked, I was there the first time he ran, I was there for the first shots he took.”

Jaylen Brown discussed his pairing with Jayson Tatum: “I think it’s been a historic sort of run. We were able to deliver a championship in 2024. Unfortunately, we had opportunities in the past that got away from us, but we’ve been right there for a long amount of time. Gained a lot of experience, I personally have gained a lot of experience. It’s been a pleasure. Everything isn’t always perfect, but it’s not supposed to be. That’s part of the journey. I’m grateful to be where I am and I’m grateful to be here. I’m excited to go have another opportunity. I feel like I’m still getting better. For some, that may be hard to believe. But I’m still improving, I’m still getting better. I’m still learning, I’m still growing. I feel like I’m entering my prime and I’m excited to maximize my potential and take advantage of every opportunity I have to win.”
