And I think now, we're getting to see that a little bit. What exactly I was capable of, and what I was sacrificing. I think, before, maybe it wasn't so obvious. I think now, being able to be at the helm of things, and us being the second seed in the east, versus last year we finished second seed in the east. It's almost been no drop off with four players, five players that are essentially gone. The work from the coaching staff. The work from our leadership has has been great. Jrue Holiday says he’s not surprised by the Celtics’ success this season: “Not that surprised. I knew that they’d do well. Knowing the type of determination that this coaching staff and organization has… I figured that they would be be good. And then obviously, knowing Jaylen, I feel like he takes a lot of things personally. He doesn't accept a lot, especially when it comes to being bad.”

Joe Mazzulla on dealing with praise: “Praise is just as dangerous as criticism. You just have to remind yourself that neither one lasts too long. And, really, at the end of the day, they're going to forget about you eventually. This is all just a short-term thing that’s going to last a few years, and then 10-15, years from now, nobody is going to talk about you. So it really doesn’t matter.”

Jaylen Brown discussed his pairing with Jayson Tatum: “I think it’s been a historic sort of run. We were able to deliver a championship in 2024. Unfortunately, we had opportunities in the past that got away from us, but we’ve been right there for a long amount of time. Gained a lot of experience, I personally have gained a lot of experience. It’s been a pleasure. Everything isn’t always perfect, but it’s not supposed to be. That’s part of the journey. I’m grateful to be where I am and I’m grateful to be here. I’m excited to go have another opportunity. I feel like I’m still getting better. For some, that may be hard to believe. But I’m still improving, I’m still getting better. I’m still learning, I’m still growing. I feel like I’m entering my prime and I’m excited to maximize my potential and take advantage of every opportunity I have to win.”
