In an interview from 2008, Lew Wolff admitted that it was Bud Selig who reached out to him to see if he wanted to own A’s. We knew Wolff/Fisher group was chosen due to Selig’s connection to Wolff, but Wolff admitting that Selig handpicked him (while rejecting all other groups who offered more), shows that Selig had a CLEAR agenda. There were at minimum 4 groups who were rejected by Selig. Names of people in these groups included: Reggie Jackson, Joe Lacob, Peter Guber, Bob Piccinini, Andy Dolich, Bill Gates, Paul Allen, Paul Schaeffer, George Zimmer, Joe Morgan, Jeff Goodby, and John McCaw.

9 years ago I made this tribute video for the 2012 Oakland A's. The 2012 team was special. Definitely my favorite team ever, from any sport. My favorite memory as a sports fan will always be game 162 of that season. It's very emotional for me looking back watching this, especially knowing that I will no longer be an A's fan a week from today. Thanks for that, John Fisher.
