“Remember Kofi in your prayers. He is deteriorating very fast and needs divine intervention.” … 5 minutes later … “Kofi is gone.” The conversation between my mother and me on Tuesday, 28 April, 2026. My mother’s younger brother had passed away. I rushed to Korle Bu to see my uncle’s lifeless body. Pains. 💔💔💔 Uncle Kofi knew the Lord, loved the Lord and longed to be with the Lord. Today, we mourn but we know exactly where he is - with the Lord. He prepared his exit (just like my grandfather) and did not fear death. I remember the powerful prayer he raised at my wedding service, to the amazement of the officiating priests. Yes, that was Uncle Kofi. He would always quote this verse, Isaiah 51:11: “Therefore the redeemed of the LORD shall return, and come with singing unto Zion; and everlasting joy shall be upon their head: they shall obtain gladness and joy; and sorrow and mourning shall flee away.” My last meeting with him was at the one week ceremony of my in-law, Wilson Atta Krofah, where he came to lend his support. He said, “my brother, I have been very sick but I am well now. Let’s talk soon so I can brief you.” He never hesitated to let me know how proud he was of me and my brothers. Rest in peace, Uncle Kofi. Rest in the bosom of our Lord.
