As a mother, and someone who is 8 1/2 months pregnant, there’s no way I’ll back down from fighting for the future of my children and for all children in Canada. I won’t put our kids’ future into the hands of Conservative politicians who do not believe climate change is real.

Today's announcement by the NDP to end the Supply and Confidence Agreement is purely a political move that puts Mr. Singh's ambitions above the interests of Canadians. Unlike the NDP and Conservatives, who are only fighting for themselves, our Liberal government will stay focused on fighting for Canadians and delivering key programs like childcare and dental care that are making a real and tangible difference in their lives. I'm looking forward to heading back to Ottawa in a couple of weeks and making parliament work for Canadians.

And ten years later, I'm still focused on you! Feeling very grateful to have reached this special milestone. It was ten years ago today that we made history both in Burlington and in Canada. I remember when I decided to run for office... I didn't know if I would win in Burlington, but I knew that with hard work, tenacity and the right people around me, I could. That team started with me and half a dozen volunteers around my kitchen table. I spent the year leading up to the 2015 election knocking on doors - 45,000 to be exact - usually just with one volunteer at a time. Listening to you and learning what mattered to you. On election night, when I looked out at the crowd that had gathered at Emma's- there were over 200 people who had volunteered on the campaign - I was overcome with emotion at the movement we had built. The hope, the excitement, the optimism. I hold onto that feeling to this day. Thank you to everyone who has helped me, guided me, supported me along this journey. Whether through your vote, knocking on doors, making phone calls, putting up signs, organizing campaign literature, providing advice, sharing ideas and making donations - every action contributes to a successful campaign. Thank you, Burlington, for your decade of trust.

Conservative MPs are not telling Canadians the truth. The Speaker of the House ruled their unprecedented motion to trample the Charter protected rights of Canadians must be sent to committee for further study, to determine whether Parliament should be able to use its extraordinary powers to circumvent due process for Canadians. So now that they have been caught playing their dangerous political game, they are obstructing their own obstruction. Probably because they know if this goes to committee their egregious behaviour will be called out and they'll have to face the truth of their actions. The Speaker has been clear: send this to committee. Then let's get to debating the important legislation Canadians want us to work on.
