Tenant not paying their rent in BC? The RTB is now lightening fast with their orders of possession. Here’s how we received an order of possession this month: - Rent not paid Jan 1 - Notice legally delivered Jan 4 - Filed Jan 8 after discussion with Landlord clients - RTB issued hearing package Jan 9 - Evidence submitted Jan 10 - Order of Possession awarded Jan 20 Per colleagues in the business, bailiffs are currently booking 2-3 weeks out so if you’re diligent, you can have physical possession of the home in about 6 weeks. A far cry from 12-18 months in Toronto.
