TVK President Thiru Vijay has requested the Indian National Congress for support to form a Government in Tamil Nadu. He has spoken about drawing inspiration from Perumthalaivar Kamaraj as well, in his political mission. The INC is clear that the mandate in Tamil Nadu is for a secular government that is committed to protecting the Constitution in letter and spirit. The INC is determined not to have the BJP and its proxies run the Govt. of Tamil Nadu in any manner. Accordingly, the Congress leadership has directed the TNCC to take a final decision on Thiru Vijay's request, keeping in view the sentiments of the state reflected in the electoral verdict.

This is the true face of Amit Shah’s goons in uniform. Many Police officers like Additional DCP Sandeep Lamba assaulted innocent girl students fighting for their rights. There are countless videos of police officers removing their badges and beating up minors - children as young as 12-14 years old. We also saw policemen themselves break car windows, pelt stones and encourage plain-clothed goons to attack peaceful protesters with batons. This level of brazenness cannot happen without sanction from the very top. Amit Shah cannot continue in his post. He has blood on his hands.

Also insisted that the Adjournment Motion to discuss the education sector crisis and police brutality done on July 20 be accepted. The entire Opposition is demanding that the draconian FCRA Amendment Bill be withdrawn. On the one hand, RSS gets crores in foreign funding, while on the other, minority-run institutions and NGOs are subjected to laws design to harass them. Buckling under pressure, the Home Minister has now been forced to recommend that it be sent to a JPC, instead of bulldozing it in Parliament. Even in the JPC, we will continue to strongly oppose this Bill and will not allow these unconstitutional and coercive provisions to become law.

The entire BJP ecosystem is in panic mode because Rahul Gandhi ji spoke the plain truth - PM Modi and HM Amit Shah have actively worked to destroy the Constitution, and for that, they are traitors. The BJP is completely rattled by LOP Sh. Rahul Gandhi ji’s address in the Lok Sabha. It is shocking how the Home Minister is evading accountability distancing himself from the dastardly acts of Delhi Police. Even when the LOP himself was speaking, he remained absent from the House. This is the true face of BJP’s rabid hatred towards Christianity. Their leaders will go to any lengths to insult minorities in India, even if that means attacking a blind lady. Matters have escalated so far that the state remains mum as entire villages boycott Christians from entering. Be it Jabalpur, Delhi, Chhattisgarh, Odisha or any other BJP-ruled state - Sangh Parivar goons have attacked Christians in an organised fashion, with total complicity of the ruling regime. Yesterday, RSS workers also attacked a children’s carol choir in Palakkad, Kerala - where the BJP is proving day after day that it is nothing but a wolf in sheep’s clothing. PM Modi has been putting up a great farce for years pretending to show newfound love for Christians, but his party and the Sangh Parivar reveal their true character every single time. Venom and hatred are the BJP’s gift during Christmas. It is a warning to all minorities that the BJP’s parochial, hate-filled agenda cannot tolerate India’s pluralism and will relentlessly attack everyone that doesn’t fit into their hate-filled worldview.

We are witnessing an extraordinary constitutional anomaly unfold before our eyes. The Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam passed in September 2023 has come into force with being published in the Gazette only at 9.55pm last night. It is shocking that the Government brought amendments to a Constitutional provision that was not even published in the Gazette! This shows the Government’s unprepared and lackadaisical approach to serious lawmaking. This is also yet another evidence that the treasury benches look at Parliament as no more than a rubber stamp, not bothered about the procedures and protocol necessary for a fair legislative process.

I pay my homage to Bharat Ratna Late Sh. Rajiv Gandhi ji on his death anniversary. He was a trailblazing PM who, in his short tenure, set the foundations for India’s transformation. Even today, despite the many attempts to erase his legacy, he remains a towering figure who structurally empowered India’s women, youth, poor and underprivileged through his policies. He laid down his life while standing up to forces that threatened India’s sovereignty and integrity. India will never forget this sacrifice, and we will always be guided by the path he showed us. For lakhs of Congress workers like me, he continues to be a hugely influential figure whose idealism and commitment to national welfare is a major driving force. We miss him everyday.

In today’s No Confidence Motion against the Speaker, we are seeing the ruling regime exploit a Constitutional vacuum of their own creation. For 7 years, the Lok Sabha does not have a Deputy Speaker - who is supposed to be presiding over these proceedings. As a result, someone from the Panel of Chairpersons is presiding over the No Confidence Motion against the Speaker. However, this Panel is appointed solely by the Speaker, thus making it ineligible to preside over a debate that deals with the Speaker’s removal. It was our demand that the House elect a presiding officer who can act as Chairperson for this motion.
