On Friday, 3rd July, in continued commemoration of the first anniversary of the renewed Kenya–UK Strategic Partnership 2025–2030, Amb. Maurice Makoloo and Amb. Matt Baugh, UK High Commissioner to Kenya, met and travelled together to Cambridgeshire for a series of joint official engagements with regional government representatives, business and community leaders, University of Cambridge faculty and students, and other key stakeholders. Significantly, their travels began at King’s Cross and St Pancras International Station, a place of particular significance for the Kenya-UK partnership as it provides the template and inspiration for the Nairobi Railway City project, one of the flagship projects under the bilateral strategic partnership. Over the past year, the ambitious urban regeneration and transit-oriented development project has progressed steadfastly into its next phase of structured implementation. The joint journey by the two High Commissioners reflects the true spirit of the bilateral partnership: learning together, building together and delivering together.
