Protesters Gather Outside Israeli Embassy in Bangkok A small group of protesters gathered outside the Israeli Embassy in Bangkok on Tuesday afternoon. A Cold War–era song, "Nak Phaen Din" ("Burden on the Motherland"), was played. The group, calling themselves Thai Mai Thon or "Thai Intolerance", was led by activist Te Acheewa. They complained about disrespectful behavior by some Israeli visitors in Thailand as well as some Israeli expats whom they believe are turning Thailand into Palestine through controlling of lands via proxies. Suvarnabhumi security officers save Russian man before he jumps SUVARNABHUMI — 2 March 2026, CCTV footage has emerged of a Russian man who threatened to jump from an elevated roadway inside Suvarnabhumi Airport, before security officers safely subdued him. The incident occurred on the evening of 1 March 2026 at around at the passenger terminal’s second floor, drawing the attention of numerous travellers in the busy airport. According to airport authorities, CCTV operators monitoring the arrivals area at Gate 2 observed a foreign man walking out of the terminal before crossing towards an outer metal barrier. The man was then seen climbing over the fence and standing on the outer ledge. The airport’s security centre alerted a patrol team to investigate. Officers reported that the man appeared highly stressed and threatened to jump to the ground below. Security personnel coordinated with relevant agencies to negotiate with him, providing drinking water in an effort to ease tensions while attempting to persuade him to step back to safety. At an opportune moment, the duty head of security decided to intervene, rushing forward to restrain the man and pull him back inside safely. He was later taken to Suvarnabhumi Airport Police Station to calm down. Police said the man was unable to provide identification documents and had not yet given his name. He identified himself only as a Russian national. Investigators have contacted the Embassy of Russia in Thailand to assist in verifying his identity. The man remains in police care while officers await further information once he is able to provide a statement. #Thailand #Suvarnabhumi #Russian

Head of ASEAN International Observers Group (IOG) Brig Gen Samsul Rizal Musa told senior Thai Army officers in Surin province on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, on his last day of the three-day observation trip along the Thai-Cambodian border that he and his colleagues from eight ASEAN nations are on the ground to verify the ceasefire situation and see the damages caused by the conflict although they are not here "to pin point who is right or wrong." He told Khaosod English’s Pravit Rojanaphruk that a solid report is expected within a week. Samsul, who is the Defence Attache at the Malaysian Embassy in Bangkok, earlier told the Thai army officers that he has noted the use of landmines and drones by Cambodia, and "a provocation from the other party" as well as the use of fake news and disinformation on social media by the Cambodian side. "Human provocation happened to us yesterday's morning [at An Ma Pass]," said Samsul, who also thanked the Thai Army for being in high morale, and exhibiting "gentlemen and professional behaviour."
