At United you have to deliver 4 out of 5 games or it gets exposed immediately. Same story as Brennan Johnson. Looked electric at Forest, then flopped into inconsistency at Spurs once the expectations and stage got bigger. United need reliability in midfield, not occasional brilliance.

That intermediate success builds the experience and credibility for the big leap. Iraola’s done brilliantly at Bournemouth, but a proper bridge would’ve made this move feel less of a gamble.
