Good morning from the Global Sumud Flotilla. We were on alert last night because of increased drone activity, but all is well today. As of this morning, we are 39 boats sailing together (a few had to be left behind in Sicily), and I’ve been told six more are ready to meet us from Greece on Wednesday. I’ll record a proper video update later today, but we’re now just FIVE DAYS from the ‘orange line’ where we **could** face Israeli interception, and ONE WEEK from the shores of Gaza. This morning we’ve been doing more training for interception. As always, the emphasis is on non-violence. Gaza, we are coming 🇵🇸❤️

Current 1 metre waves are sufficient to periodically spray us with sea water, and many people are lying flat to stave off seasickness, but we’re well & truly sailing! 🌊🇵🇸 2 metre waves are predicted in the coming days, but our captain is nothing if not experienced, having crossed the Atlantic on 4.5 metre waves 💪

UPDATE: Explosions like the one shown in this video (recorded from the boat Spectre earlier) are still happening, some very nearby. We believe there have been eight or nine now, at least. My boat, Family, has still not been hit. Several boats may be damaged, but we don't think there are any injuries.

Approx. 800 nautical miles to go. This means we will be close to Gaza next weekend. In light of new attempts by Israel to smear us, please follow our journey to keep us safe and to help us break Israel’s illegal and genocidal blockade.

FLOTILLA UPDATE: Yesterday, we finally left Greek waters and started the last leg to Gaza! The past couple of days have been tough. The engine failed on our lead boat, Family, and couldn’t be repaired. Reallocating us to other boats took the best part of two days and we were left without information for much of it. After nearly a month on board with the same wonderful people, I was heartbroken to part ways with them. But I’ve now moved to a new boat, Adara, with 23 lovely & welcoming people on board, including politicians from Spain, Portugal & Latin America. A reminder: 🚨 2-3 days to the possible interception zone 🇵🇸 4-5 days to Gaza Updates as they happen.

🚨 FLOTILLA UPDATE: boats are finally starting to move out of the port of Bizerte, Tunisia, and towards Gaza. After 4 days of being stationary here dealing with complex logistical problems, everyone is thrilled to be moving on with the peaceful mission to break Israel’s siege. We expect to be sailing now without interruption for 10-14 days, collecting approx 30-40 more boats off the coasts of Tunisia, Italy and Greece. More updates coming soon 🇵🇸

FLOTILLA LATEST: very little runs on schedule here, but today we’re within the 30 minute margin of error! Boats are now leaving Sicily heading east through the Mediterranean towards Gaza. That means upwards of 40 Global Sumud Flotilla boats finally sailing together for Palestine 🇵🇸🚤 For those ppl in the comments saying our mission is taking a long time - we know!! We’re absolutely desperate for it to progress and complete & every setback is demoralising (although morale remains high). Updates as they happen ❤️🍉

A great addition to the fleet 🇵🇸 More detailed update coming soon - we’re currently trying to decide whether to sail through bad weather, or wait it out here.
