We are saddened to hear the great Leiji Matsumoto passed away last week. Here he is at age 42 in 1980, being interviewed by Reiko Tajima after Galaxy Express 999 was awarded the #1 best anime of 1980, restored in 4K by us. His influence is incalculable & his works shall live on.

Anyway, enough of that, we have something we’d like to share. A unique curiosity, a 35mm newsreel from the mid 70s-Hyogo News No 170-talking all about the San'yō Shinkansen, connecting Osaka to Hakata as an extension of the Tokaido Shinkansen from Tokyo! Bit faded, but very neat!
