One of the most moving press conferences I've ever been a part of.... Za'Darius Smith retired in 2025 during his 11th NFL season, just five games after signing with Philadelphia, for personal reasons. Today he shared those reasons. Very emotional and said his mom always wanted him to end up in Atlanta. Atlanta News First

I have some bittersweet news to share... today is my last day at LEX 18 News. I'm moving back home for a little bit to spend time with my family and look forward to sharing what's next when the time comes! To this community, the families, relationships and friendships I've made along the way... thank you for everything. Thank you for accepting me and supporting me. AND TO BIG BLUE NATION! What an amazing fanbase you have been to cover. I have loved every second of it, and no matter where I go, Kentucky will always feel like a part of home. GO BIG BLUE! To the best sports team out there... I love you guys! BBN Tonight Keith Farmer Maggie Davis Sierra Newton Nick Lazaroff Jesse Riffe #ThunderUp Eli Gehn

So excited about this feature coming soon on BBN Tonight!! Chase Nicholas, who was diagnosed with T-cell leukemia last year, is this week’s “Lift Them Up” kid for Kentucky Football. This one has been a long time coming! Josh Kattus and Marques Cox have played a huge part in all this and I appreciate them and the family for letting me visit Chase at the hospital and get the chance to tell his story.
