Q. Who’s the person that quietly gives you reliable words when you’re having a hard time? KARINA: Oh~ for this one, I think it’s Giselle. We recently talked about aespa while preparing for the 2nd full album. I asked her, ‘how can we be both healthy and happy while promoting as aespa?’ we talked about this topic really deeply. That time was really good for me.

karina on 16 bit 🫶 ⭐️: 16 Bit..but why is it ‘16 Bit’? 🩵: you’re curious? ⭐️: yeah. i’m curious! 🩵: if you want to know, leave ‘16 Bit’ in the comments- got it? ⭐️: tell us quick, we only have 2 minutes left (until they get home) 🩵: oh, that’s right, i won’t be able to say everything then ⭐️: just say like a summary or anything 🩵: there’s 16 beats in music, right (like in a 4/4 time measure). it’s like i’ve been split into pieces in that sense. so eventually…it has this vibe of completing a puzzle, or like scattered pixels, so the lyrics are about gathering those (pieces) well, and.. ⭐️: and then being complete? 🩵: ..becoming one. roughly. vaguely. like the vibe of completing a puzzle.

🩵: do you have a lot of worries? i’ll listen to them 👤: ..it’s fine 🩵: ah, i’ll listen to them, it’s okay! *gasp* are you a trainee? 👤: i’m actually..a real idol trainee 🩵: really?! 👤: i am. 🩵: *gasp* no wonder you’re so pretty~ 👤: thank you~ 🩵: heol, so this is a real advice segment? 👤: yes, i came because i really needed advice. i’ve been a trainee for about 2 years now. i started at a bit of an older age, so.. 🩵: how old are you? 👤: i’m 20 right now 🩵: 😯 you’re young 👤: i thought i was (training for) a vocal group, but they started making us dance 🩵: oh, that hits close to home 👤: so it’s a case where it’s my first time learning dancing, and i’ve slowly started to compare myself to other younger colleagues, and i’ve lost a lot of confidence. 🩵: what’s your biggest concern? 👤: my biggest concern is how to have a healthy mindset. 🩵: but if i were to be really honest, i think that there’s no reason to not be healthy. from the fact that you’ve found what you want to do at such a young age, that’s already very amazing. and it’s also difficult to get into a company, and the fact that it’s already been 2 years that you’ve been learning there is amazing too. and you’re so pretty! even just looking at you.. 👤: oh, sunbaenim~ 🩵: why am i your sunbaenim? i’m at my part-time job right now ㅎㅎ

260518 #KARINA at KOPA & Nikon Press Photo Awards “Hello, I’m Karina. First off, it’s my first time getting invited here, so thank you for inviting me. I think I can speak well and I’m less nervous because of the warm atmosphere. What I really wanted to say to the journalists is that I’m always thankful to them for taking pretty photos that capture what even I can’t see with my own eyes. I always wanted to say this but I never really had a chance to. I want to thank you again for giving me this opportunity to do so. Especially, after receiving this ‘Photogenic Photo Award’, I feel really happy. I hope you can take more pretty photos in the future too. Even my dad’s wallpaper is an article photo of mine. I hope you can take more pretty photos in the future so my dad can change his wallpaper. Please watch over me well in the future too. For the journalists who’ll be with us on the 28th for the comeback press conference, and also on the 29th, for LEMONADE, please watch over us well. Thank you for inviting me!”

Q. What does ‘being myself’ mean to Karina? KARINA: For me! I think it’s being honest. May it be through my actions or words, or how I’m seen, I think that I’m a very honest person. But to be honest, I think I wasn’t like that in the beginning. I used to think that I should present ‘KARINA’ in a KARINA-like way a lot. As I did that, I thought it’d create a disconnect from Yu Jimin, so as I was looking for the middle ground, I realized that being honest is the answer. 🩵
