Due to yesterday’s unfortunate incident, today’s City Council session was kept brief. — Mayor Murtaza Wahab Siddiqui We had intended to discuss the incident in detail during the session. As a legislative council, we have always tried to resolve matters responsibly. But our colleagues in Jamaat-e-Islami refuse constructive politics and resort only to criticism. They level accusations without even checking which town or UC falls under whose authority. Jamaat-e-Islami began chanting slogans even before the session started—arriving with placards and banners. Politics should be for Karachi’s progress, not for theatrics.
