Coming from the Bicycle Capital of the World, Dutch Consul General, Adriaan IJsselstein, often goes to his office in Erbil by bicycle. In celebration of World Bicycle Day, he expressed his passion for promoting cycling culture in the Kurdistan Region as well. Since 2018, the United Nations General Assembly has designated June 3 as World Bicycle Day. The bicycle is a symbol of sustainable transport and promotes responsible consumption and production, with a positive impact on the climate.
